This test is useful as an adjunct test for the diagnosis of invasive mucormycosis caused by the most common genera associated with Mucorales infections (Cokeromyces, Syncephalastrum, Rhizmucor, Lichtheimia, Apophysomyces, Cunninghamella, Mucor, Rhizopus, and Saksenaea). This test does not replace culture and histopathology.
