Avoid using hemolyzed, lipemic or bacterially contaminated sera.
Clinical Info
The test may be used for determination of immune status, response to Measles vaccine, confirmation of positive Measles IgM result post infection. This test does not detect neutralizing antibodies and some individuals with past history of Measles vaccination may test negative using this test. It is typically used as a surrogate of immunity virus.
Clinical Limitation
Bacterial contamination or heat inactivation of the specimens may affect the test result.
