Special Info
If the Hepatitis C Antibody (IA) is positive, HCV RNA test is suggested. Hepatitis B Surface Antigen Confirmation will be performed and billed on all initially reactive Hepatitis B Surface Antigen tests.
Clinical Info
Sero-diagnosis of acute viral hepatitis due to HAV, HBV, or HCV. HCV antibodies appear 4-6 weeks after infection using this 3rd generation antibody assay. Should very recent HCV infection be suspected, HCV RNA testing may be attempted.
Clinical Limitation
Methodology not approved for donor testing.
