Special Info

Cutoff concentration: 500 ng/mL. The concentration value must be greater than or equal to the cutoff to be reported as positive. All positive Ethyl Glucuronide results will be sent for confirmation by Liquid Chromatography -Tandem Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) at an additional cost.

Clinical Info

Ethyl glucuronide is a direct metabolite of ethanol and can be detected up to 80 hours in urine after ethanol ingestion.

Clinical Limitation

Unintentional exposure to ethanol by other means such as hand sanitizers and other products or foods containing ethanol can result in detectable levels of ethyl glucuronide.
