The Carcinoembryonic antigen test was performed using the Beckman Coulter Unicel DXI paramagnetic particle chemiluminescent immunoassay method. Results obtained with different assay methods or kits cannot be used interchangeably.

Carcinoembryonic antigen test is used as an aid in monitoring response to treatment or recurrence in patients with established colorectal, breast, lung, prostatic, pancreatic, and ovarian carcinomas.
Clinical Limitation
This test is not recommended as a screening test.
