QuantiFERON-TB Gold Plus Blood Collection Tubes – High Altitude

Size: (4) 1 mL tubes

High altitude tubes have a yellow ring on the top of the tube.

Regular tubes are also available, and have a white ring on the top of the tube.

Qiagen QuantiFERON-TB Gold Plus Tubes aid in the detection of Mycobacterium tuberculosis, the bacteria which causes tuberculosis (TB).

Each set of tubes includes the following:

– (1) Purple Mitogen tube, 1 mL  low response may indicate the inability to generate IFN-γ
– (1) Green TB1 Antigen tube, 1 mL  assesses the interferon-gamma (IFN-γ) response to TB-specific antigens
– (1) Yellow TB2 Antigen tube, 1 mL  assesses the interferon-gamma (IFN-γ) response to TB-specific antigens
– (1) Grey Nil tube, 1 mL negative control to adjust for background IFN-γ

QuantiFERON-TB Gold Plus (QFT-Plus) uses the same test principle, procedure, and technology as the QuantiFERON-TB Gold Test.

With QFT-Plus, there are now two TB Antigen tubes – TB Antigen Tube 1 (TB1) optimized to stimulate a CD4 immune response, and TB Antigen Tube 2 (TB2) optimized to stimulate both CD4 and CD8 immune responses.
