Specimens must be sent via FedEx, UPS, or DHL and prepared by personnel trained and certified in specimen transportation.

Specimens must be sent via FedEx, UPS, or DHL.
Cleveland Clinic Laboratories complies with shipping regulations of diagnostic specimens established by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, Department of Public Health, International Air Transport Association, and the United States Department of Transportation.
Packages containing laboratory specimens must be prepared by personnel who are trained and certified in specimen transportation to ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) and International Air Transport Association (IATA) regulations.
Shipping Labels
Generate a FedEx shipping label using the application here.
Attach the label to your package and arrange for a pick-up or drop-off at a FedEx location.
Please turn off or disable pop-up blockers to use the Remote Label Printing application.
Order Printed Shipping Labels
Pre-printed airbills are available to request from Logistics. Please allow 3-5 business days for fulfillment and shipping.
Courier Services
Healthcare providers contracted with CCL Courier Services can schedule a pick-up by calling Client Services at 800.628.6816.
To maintain integrity, samples must be stored with each specimen’s temperature requirements in mind.
If using a lockbox: CCL recommends keeping your lockbox indoors at room temperature until it is packed and prepared for courier pick-up.
USPS / US Mail
Letters, documents, and other correspondence may be sent by mail.
Do not mail specimens via US Mail/USPS.
Specimens sent via US Mail are subject to significant delays in processing and may be at risk for specimen integrity problems.
