Patient must be fasting 12 hours prior to collection. Non-fasting or lipemic specimens will be rejected. This test is New York state approved.

Clinical Info

This test is used in appropriate high-risk patients (eg, type 2 diabetes mellitus) in whom LDL particle number is being used to guide therapy. Not recommended for cardiovascular disease risk assessment in most individuals.
