Clinical Info
Interphase FISH analysis utilizing dual color, break-apart probe sets for the TFEB gene at 6p21.1 and the TFE3 gene at Xp11.23. This is useful in the identification and accurate classification of renal cell carcinomas. The translocation partner genes cannot be identified in this assay. The TFEB probe set also allows for the identification of TFEB amplification, which has been associated with a more aggressive class of renal carcinomas. If no cells are available for analysis, no analysis charges will be incurred.
